Organizations have to handle more and more information on a daily basis. Emails, faxes and other documents have to be archived, governed and retrieved. But what does it mean? Archiving documents is not accomplished by just saving files in a certain folder. You have to store different formats, index them to anable you to search and find them easily.
Once you stored your documents you want to know who created the specific file, who modified it and when. You may wish to create a certain workflow for a document. For example: The marketing manager wants to create a newsletter. The marketing officer will create the newsletter as a word document. Once the document is saved, the marketing manager will be informed that there is a document waiting for approval. The marketing manager will approved the document the word document will then processed to be send out as a newsletter to the customers. Curious how that works? BPMAP shows you ways how to store, manage and access your documents with open source document management systems. |
